Why are we the Chosen Outfitter for many?

There are many pricing points for each and every adventure you search for in India. A lot of it has to do with  experience or lack of it, support back ups on treks, safety measures and resulting ability to not let anyone get into serious trouble. What we do know well is that adventure travel comes with a great responsibility, as you are using our collective natural heritage, and the ethic and pedigree of type of travel is crucial. We deal primarily with experiences, not commodities.

01

A most under rated aspect of adventure travel is the importance of ethos, which comes with full time staff at the organisation that ensures institutional memory. We value that!

02

We know the importance of hygienic and healthy meals on trips, top notch equipment on climbs, tents that keep you safe even in inclement weather, dire conditions. Our highly experienced summit guides, portable altitude chambers (PAC) and stretchers on all high and remote trips, and a reliability do not reflect on the price tag.

03

This will ensure your time and investment in the experience are both used to the fullest. All our treks have toilet tents with seats, dining tents, tables, chairs, kitchen tents, hands free washing systems. Two way radios ensure communications remain between advance and rear teams on the trail. Our satellite phone go on all remote trips, where allowed.

04

Our guest to guide ratios are an industry benchmark, so if you are ill, injured or need an evacuation, we have the support to make it happen. Our tents on high altitude treks are 4-season tents built to withstand the toughest storms, a small detail that can save lives with climate change bringing about sudden changes in weather. All equipment meets global standards, we believe there can be no compromise with the smallest piece of filtration system to a $1000 tent built for altitude. There are no short cuts in offering quality, and we have done so since 1995.

05

Our departures are not 'batches' of 20/30/40 persons. We do not do mass trekking, fixed camp based adventure travel. We believe our fragile natural heritage must not only be protected ; but the experience that you must have to savour, must not be massified.
Our groups are usually anything between 8-12 persons on hikes, 16-20 on long remote expeditions - we strongly advocate strong measures against mass tourism in the outdoors, and seek guests who understand the importance of this huge factor. We do not believe in eroding the very USP that makes our guests wish to travel to these regions.

06

Our repertoire straddles all age groups. From children to elders and everyone in between. From easy camp based adventures, to a 12-hour activity lodge schedule, to a remarkable range of adventure travel that encompasses 3-4 day treks, multi activity adventures, to remote, long, difficult and challenging expeditions. And we do that both on land and water. Our skilling programs help you learn to kayak, raft, climb, or even learn Swift Water Rescue! We have something for everything and you would be hard pressed to find a wider range. And this is not all. We are happy to customize your adventure, white label if needed and curate a bespoke adventure that you desire. As if this was not enough, we also started India's first multi-discipline adventure challenge in 2013!

07

Our overseas adventures are another testament to our versatility - from climbing Kilimanjaro, to descending the Zambezi from Victoria falls, trekking in Jordan, hiking in the Atlas mountains, visiting the Sahara, the highlands of the Andes, Peru and Chile adventures, running the Colorado in the Grand Canyon, lodge treks in Austria, Bhutan and Nepal treks.

The Tons was explored by the late Jack Morison, longtime Sobek guide and founder of White Magic, in 1986 and in 2018 we ran a trip led by Sobek founder John Yost that included Jack’s two sons Walker Morison and Griffin Morison honoring that history.

Our teams are some of the most experienced leaders you will meet, our equipment is of global benchmark, our guides are Wilderness First Aid and CPR certified, our cooks practice hygienic preparation methods, we pay fair wages, including that to horsemen, and our group sizes are limited. Our experiences are exclusive, small, personalised and we guide you in the right manner into your outdoor experience. Finally, you really aren't paying for all piecemeal, as these are experiences and not commodities, and expert guidance and leadership is really what you get, in proportion to what you pay.
