Why Jordan Should On Your Travel Bucket List?

  • Hike to Petra – The photos (and movies) you’ve seen of the Treasury in the ancient city of Petra aren’t even half of the experience: Barely 20 percent of the area has been excavated.
  • Enter Through Petra’s “Back Door” If you approach Petra from the north, you can enter through the “back door,” where the crowds of tourists are far more manageable. You’ll pass through Little Petra first, where you’ll get to climb into caves hand-carved into the sandstone once used by ancient travelers visiting the city.
  • Sleep Under the Stars – With relatively zero light pollution in many parts of the trail, the night sky is incredible.
  • Walk through history in Jerash, regarded as one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East
  • Visit Wadi Rum in the desert, see the Bedouin way of life
  • Lastly, of course, visit the Dead Sea!!

DAYS 1-4

  • Day 1: Arrival at Queen Alia International Airport – Amman

Meet and assist at Queen Alia International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Amman. Later in the evening you will have a welcome dinner at a local restaurant in Amman.

  • Day 2: Amman – Jerash – Ajloun

Depart from your hotel in Amman to head north to walk through history in Jerash, regarded as one of the most important and best preserved Roman cities in the Middle East. Drive to Ajloun and visit the castle, dominating the Ajloun skyline and built to ward off the Crusader armies at the key trade and pilgrimage intersection between Jerusalem, Cairo, Damascus and Mecca. The day will also include a hike from Ajloun Castle along the fertile wadi with its lush vegetation & gardens to Mar Elias (Elijah) Church. After the hike you will be treated to a relaxing and gratifying lunch of traditional Jordanian food at a local family house to experience the Jordanian hospitality and support the local community in Ajloun. Drive back to Amman.

  • Day 3: Amman – Amman City Tour – Furon

After breakfast, start your tour with the old city of Amman exploring the Citadel and the Roman Theatre, two of the most popular archaeological sites in the city. Depart from Amman and head south towards Furon for the overnight.

  • Day 4: Furon – Little Petra

On this day, we will start hiking from Furon past Ras Al-Feid towards Ghbour Whedat. Today we will witness astonishing views into the some of the most remote and wildest corners of Jordan. Contouring the Sharah Mountains, follow a trail of mostly clear Bedouin shepherd paths. The sheer peeks of black mountains overlooking our trail and steep precipitous drops of the canyons below make this day absolutely spectacular. We will gradually climb up the hills to uncover more of the spectacular views over the desert below. After the hike you will be transferred to your camp in Little Petra.

DAYS 5-8

  • Day 5: Little Petra – Petra

After breakfast, it’s time to start your hike. Enter Petra via ‘The Back Door’ avoiding most of the tourists. Good tracks go pleasantly down Wadi Ghurab amidst sandstone mountains guarding the approaches to Petra. This way follows a Nabataean route out of the valley and skirting round the final mountain on a natural rock terrace which has been ‘improved’ for the safety of walkers. Even so, it still narrows slightly before reaching a hidden plateau high above the impressive chasm of Wadi Siyyagh. Just beyond, carved into the cliff face, ‘The Monastery’ suddenly comes into view, where there is a Bedouin café for refreshments if you would like. Nabataean steps then lead down into ancient Petra; your route then takes you through Um Saihoon village in Wadi Musa and your Petra hotel accommodation.

  • Day 6: Petra – Wadi Rum

A Masterpiece half as old as time; The Red Rose city of Petra. Marvel at the beauty of the ‘Lost City’, exploring its many caves and tombs. Walk through the Siq and be astounded at the magnificent Treasury, the entrance guarding the ancient Nabatean city, now one of the Modern 7 Wonders of the World. Time to then explore the city further, such as Qasr Al-Bint or the Royal Tombs. Drive to Wadi Rum and spend a roughly 2 hour sunset Jeep tour and the night under the stars in the peaceful desert, enjoying the hospitality of the Bedouins.

  • Day 7: Wadi Rum – Dead Sea

After having breakfast in Wadi Rum you will drive to the lowest point on earth to relax at the Dead Sea. Time to float in the salty water, relax by the pool, enjoy the sunshine and views while trying out the invigorating mud bath to cleanse the skin, and experience the various treatments in the spa.

  • Day 8: Dead Sea – Queen Alia International Airport

Pick up from the Dead Sea and transfer to the airport to catch your flight..
