The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a captivating and challenging trekking adventure that takes you around the eighth highest mountain in the world, Mount Manaslu (8,163 meters/26,781 feet). Nestled in the remote and untouched region of the Nepalese Himalayas, the Manaslu trek offers a less crowded alternative to some of the more popular trekking routes like the Annapurna and Everest regions.

The Manaslu Circuit Trek offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and a sense of adventure, making it an ideal choice for trekkers seeking a unique and off-the-beaten-path Himalayan experience.

DAYS 1-4

  • Day 1: KATHMANDU

Arrive Kathmandu transfer hotel, preparation and rest.

  • Day 2: KATHMANDU – JAGAT  (1340 M )

Today we drive from Kathmandu to Jagat driving through During the long drive, gain insights into the unique culture and lifestyle of people living in rural regions. You may catch a few glimpses of the astounding Himalayas on the day before even the trekking starts on the following day.

  • Day 3: JAGAT – DENG (2350 M)

Today we will trek across various landscapes, dense forests, small rivers and classic villages to reach the village of Deng. The trail enters a steep gorge and then to grassy slopes eventually through a wide valley and bamboo forests to the Deng Khola river.

  • Day 3: Sonmarg – Nichnai Base Camp (3505 M)

After breakfast we take a short drive to the start of our trek. Walk through maple trees, past lush meadows and rivulets till we reach Shekdur for lunch. Shekdur pasture is lined by Silver Birch trees with herder huts and the backdrop of the big mountains. Post lunch, traverse a rocky section and a very pretty meadow to reach camp.

  • Day 4: DENG – NUMRANG (2390 M)

We hike from Deng to Namrung for 7-8 hours. Deng to Namrung trek in Nepal is one of the most beautiful treks in the world. This trek is a part of the Manaslu Circuit Trek, which is gaining popularity among the trekkers who want to experience the beauty of the Himalayas without the crowds. The trek takes you through some of the most remote areas of the Himalayas, offering stunning views of snow-capped mountains, glaciers, and alpine forests.

DAYS 5-8

  • Day 5: NUMRUNG – LHO VILLAGE (3150 M)

Today on a fresh morning after delightful breakfast, we commence our journey from Numrung, cross Budhi Gandaki River, and trace through the dense forest to enter upper Nupri village. The Gompas, Chortens, Stupas, typical lifestyle, culture, tradition, costume, and dialects in this village resemble the influence of Tibetan-style. Walk pass from Sho and Shrip is Lho village which is our today’s destination.

  • Day 6: LHO VILLAGE – SAMAGAON (3530 M)

Today we start our 4 hour trek You will walk through a forested path and then some barley fields. After some time, you will arrive at Lihi observing magical views of snow-capped mountains. A gentle trail uphill will take you to the Pungyen Gompa. Following the trail, we will trek to various points to arrive at Samagaon. You will stay at a Samagaon teahouse.

  • Day 7: SAMAGAON (ACCLIMATIZATION) (3530 M)

Today is the rest day. The trek acclimatization does not mean you will stay idle. But you will trek for some duration, even on these days. You will remain in Samagaon and explore these beautiful landscapes. You can go on a cultural exploration of the region. After traveling around these beautiful locations and acclimatizing yourself to high-altitude conditions, you can return to your stay and rest for the evening.

  • Day 8: SAMAGAON – SAMDO (3800 M)

This trail on this day starts from Samagaon to Samdo. The trail leads us to forests with juniper and birch. As we reach down the Budhi Gandaki river, we will cross the wooden bridge over Budhi Gandaki and climb up steeply across the river. We will be getting amazing views of mountains, especially Manaslu, as we reach Samdo – a Tibetan refugee village. Upon reaching Samdo, we will also explore this village and the surrounding hills.

DAYS 9-13

  • Day 9: SAMDO- DHARAMSALA (4400 M)

This morning we cross several rivers before coming to Larkya Bazaar, a village that survives as a trading post for traders heading down from Tibet. From here we climb up a steep trail until we come to Dharamsala where we will stay overnight in a guesthouse.

  • Day 10: DHARAMSALA – BHIMTHANG via LARKYA La PASS (3720 M)

We have a tough day ahead of us as we take the trail via Larkya La Pass (5106m/17,121 ft) to Bhimthang. We first have to climb to Cho Chanda and then up to the steep snow covered pass. The views of many surrounding peaks are truly exceptional from this high altitude vantage point. The Himalayan mountains of Himlung Himal (7126m), Cheo Himal (6820m), Gyaji Kung (7030m), Kang Koru (698m) and Annapurna II (7937m) are clearly observable from the pass. We then descend a steep trail and trek across moraines until we come to Bhimthang Village where we will stay at a guesthouse overnight.

  • Day 11: BHIMTHANG– TILCHE – BESISHAHAR (2400 M)

We will descend from Bhimthang to Tilche on this day. We will also walk down through pine, rhododendron woods, and verdant emerald meadows. Then, we will drop further to Dudh Khola’s river bank and reach Karche La. We will also pass by the Gho Village. This trek offers an opportunity to explore the diverse landscapes, cultures, and traditions of the Manaslu region. You will continue your descent towards the roadhead at Dharapani and then take a drive to Besishahar.

  • Day 12: BESISHAHAR -KATHMANDU      

You’ll start your day with an early breakfast before a scenic drive from Besishahar to Kathmandu. he drive takes about 6-7 hours. Along the way, you’ll pass through several small towns and villages, offering a glimpse into the everyday life of the Nepali people. You’ll also enjoy stunning views of the countryside, with its terraced fields, lush forests, and snow-capped mountains in the distance.

  • Day 13: KATHMANDU – KATHMANDU AIRPORT                     

Depart to Airport. TRIP ENDS!
